Michiel, You're right, I didn't know that. I'm not a programmer at all. Thanks for letting me know though! I tried your mod_album_tree.zip module and it worked fine. I see what you did, it provides a complete list of all the albums from which you can click on. I asked this question a while back and valiant replied something about using the template. Take a look at the first two posts in this thread: Ideally, there shoudl be a way to call the actual jump to album block itself that's already built into the G2 sidebar. |

How are you installing it? At what point to do you get this error? Are you using the Component installer in the Admin panel of Mambo? I am installing it throught the control panel. I get it after the com_gallery 2 folder is added and after the database changes have been made. It then fails with that error and does not install. I noticed someone else had it too. From this thread. Quote:
Hi, The _ in the path I put was just what I substituted for my user name in the path. I have not had problems with any other components. The zip file is mambo.zip. I downloaded it straight from the link on the first post of this thread. On another note, the component file that was in the original Mambo + G2 thread installs without error. Thanks |

drwhit73 : dirfix........ its not installing right cause u .ziped the wrong dir from the cvs file. and it's recommended to use the latest component since it has somewhat of a user synchronization. |

okay i have rewritten back-end and added some features: userlist page Quote:
You can view all user and see if they are synced with Gallery2. user_edit Quote:
summery: tools page Quote:
# sync user to gallery2( at the moment only copies unsynced user to gallery2, this will change, user already synced will get update so it is perfectly sync ones again. ) also made a front end adjustment, mambelfish support! My question to the community, what would you like to see on the userlist and user_edit page and other good idea's are also welcome? |

michiel_1981, don't remove a user from the registered users and also not from the everybody group, G2 relies on that. but of course your advancements sound great, just trying to come up with contructive criticism. |

valiant, thxs, for contructive criticism. ;) and I already thought i shouldn't do anything with those groups, i'll make sure they can't delete users from there if I'll include this feature. |

michiel 1981, I installed the 1.1 of the album tree and have problems. The permission to all my albums are set for registered users only in the G2 admin panel. Therefore, if I install this module and leave the Mambo Module access to "Public", I get this error in the spot where this module should display (embedded): Quote:
Fatal error: Undefined class name 'galleryembed' in /mywebsite.net/public_html/modules/mod_album_tree.php on line 26 If I set the Mambo Module access to "Registered", I can log in and see the complete list all the albums (like before) but once I click on an album to view it, I get this Gallery error covering the whole page un-embedded: Quote:

KAC, i'd see this rather as a g2 functionality, as a module. of course you could then display the same data in a mambo page, but |

KAC, what are your component settings? i tried to duplicate but didn't manage to do it. I set all my albums registered view in all situations(logged out, logged in, module(all), module(registered only)) It works perfectly. the strange thing is if you look at line number 26 i haven't started calling g2 yet, it was just getting all the config stuff. thxs, |

I know I did ;-) |

JupiterZen, so you'd recommend moving com_gallery2/gallery2/* to com_gallery2/. ? i.e. just get rid of the gallery2 folder in between? |

no offence, that sounds good to me. but i'd like to hear the opinion of at least of the devs that worked on the mambo integration code before we change this. hope one of them reads the forums. |

i won't argue about the paths. either you are running php on windows and then you need paths with backslash or not. @pictures: @performance: |

JupiterZen, Are you just deleting it (this is not what i meant) or are you making the path to the files one step shorter (this is what i meant)? So the content of the gallery2 dir ends op a level higher inside de com_gallery2 dir. I'm thinking it might be easier to just zip the Gallery2 directory (located inside the com_gallery dir and trying to install that zipfile as a component |

I'm using Gallery 2 in Mambo 4.5.2 and I'm confused about the sidebar and album/item editing issues. When using the sidebar module it disappears when I go into any sub-album. The way the module is set up, it will only show when a person is in the Gallery which makes perfect sense to me since it is of no use when viewing the forum, etc. So I have the gallery on the left main window with the sidebar module on the right which shows fine on the Gallery main page, but disappears when I click on an album. 2nd Q: No matter if I use the sidebar module or the sidebar within G2 I can't edit any items. The page just refreshes instead of going into an edit screen. For example; if I want to edit an album I click on the option in the sidebar menu, but instead of going into the album edit screen it just refreshes the album. The only time it works is if I use G2 outside of Mambo. I'd like to be able to allow my Mambo users to edit their own albums etc. I've read through many posts and didn't see anything about these particular issues. I apologize if I overlooked where they have been brought up before. Thanks for your time. Jamie |

Okay I figured out the 'why' for the second question. The links created by the sidebar go like this: (for Add Comment) http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2 &g2_view=core:ItemAdmin&g2_subView=comment:AddComment&g2_itemId=7 &g2_return=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mydomain.com%2Findex.php%3Foption%3Dcom_gallery2 &g2_returnName=album when actually they should simply be (pardon my line breaks) http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2 &g2_view=core:ItemAdmin &g2_subView=comment:AddComment&g2_itemId=7 the g2_return seems to be unnecessary and messing up my edit functions, when I clear that from the URLs it works great. Could someone steer me in the right direction to get rid of that in the URLs? |

kdezarn, The first problem you mention is VERY annoying. It's known problem. If you select the sidebar module to show on ALL pages, then it works. I am wanting it to work just like you say. I want the sidebar to show at all times while browsing the gallery. Right now it only shows when on the main galler page. I posted about this problem here: |

I have changed it to show on ALL pages for now just to get by, but the links still do not work because of the g2_return markup in the URLs. Like in my previous post. No matter if the sidebar module showed or not, the links never work unless I remove the end of the URL that begins with &g2_return |

michiel 1981, Thanks for posting this fix. I have a nOOb question. How do I edit the url link? I have the "Picture Gallery" link in the top menu. I click it in Mambo Admin Menu Manager and it will not let me edit the URL. The component link comes up as " index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=47" but I can't change it. I did go to the G2 component settings and changed the embedurl to: "index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=?your Itemid?" but that didn't help. I still only get the sidebar to show when clicking on the top menu link. |

KAC, the part "?your Itemid?" you should replace with the number that is showing up in your url. hope it helps, ps: this bug is fixed in the soon to be released version. |

Okay i just wanted to give you all a report what is happing on the component. Version 2 of the component is nearly complete, because of the drastic changes that where made, all modules have to be updated also.
The modules will be updated and there will be some new ones. Like a module with latest comments, latest x photo's text-based with link, most x viewed photo's text-based with link, nice stats module(number of albums/foto/movies, total views, total size, total comments, etz) grtz, |

Awesome job Michiel, I have one module to request. It would be great to have a module to use on the front page that shows an icon or something small stating an album/picture has been added/updated to the gallery. I look forward to your V2. |

Okay everybody version 2 is here. it is probably a bit buggy and not everything will work, but i need to test it on different servers and settings. So please report any problems you have and give the url to your site so i can see your problem. You need to update your modules as well! thxs, Don't use on live Site unless you know what you are doing! |
