So, is there still a bridge for Mambo 4.6 and Gallery 2?

And if there isn't one, what other options do I have?

Thanks.

I doubt it. I haven't come across one in a while and didn't see one in a quick search. My advice would to be upgrade to Joomla.

Hi all

One of my users have a funny problem, where the gallery is being pushed below the menu, as can be seen here: http://www.lhandmade.co.za/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=32

This template was originally used on a Mambo installation, but after running into problems with Mambo upgrade via Fantastico, we decided to install Joomla, transferred all the content, installed the bridge, and then noticed that the gallery doesn't appear next to the menu like other content, but rather below it.

Any suggestions?

I'm having a really weird issue that only appears to happen to guests.

They go to my gallery via the bridge: http://www.sea-patrol.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,75/?g2_itemId=2499

And when they click on some items, it just takes them back to the page they're on, or it goes into one album but won't show them the images they click on. If they click random image on the left hand side, they sometimes get into the correct images, other times it refreshes to the gallery main page.

I've uninstalled the bridge, upgraded the bridge, upgraded gallery2, upgraded Joomla (they're all the latest versions of the software) and it seems to work for a bit then breaks again.

If you go to the gallery install here: http://sea-patrol.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=1770

It works perfectly fine, no issues at all. Registered users also have no issues.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried it with SEO off? I had to do some extra stuff (as in modify code) to get mine working with SEO on.

See http://forum.4theweb.nl/showthread.php?t=879

That was already turned off. I put my thinking cap on and thought what have I changed.

The only thing I had changed is, due to a lot of guests I changed guests to full acceleration and members to partial acceleration. Turned both these back to none and it works fine. Random!

Obviously you didn't have the joomla one turned off because look at the url you posted: http://www.sea-patrol.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,75/?g2_itemId=2499 That's an SEO url requiring mod rewrite.

Anyway, i'm glad you got it working.

I've just installed the latest versions of both gallery2 and the bridge to a 1.0.12 version of joomla

All gallery functions work fine from within the gallery.
Gallery displays fine after installation of bridge and its configuration settings.

However, when the gallery is displayed from within Joomla, and the "login" link is clicked, the following error message occurs:
The requested URL /gallery2/1 not found

Is there something i've overlooked in setup in the gallery backend?

As people will be viewing the gallery only from within Joomla interface, is there a way to turn that "login" link off? for that matter, the 'register' link as well?

Thanks in advance to whomever might answer!

Michael

Never mind.

Good thing I'm humble.
Otherwise I'd be very embarrassed.

FG, it was me simply overlooking an admin feature either in Gallery or the component, or both.

OK I tried to download the bridge (I think) and it keeps coming up with an error. The file was called "com_gallery2_v2.0.14_beta.zip". Is there a non-beta version.

Oh and the error I get when trying to install the component

Quote:
Table 'jota_chat.jos_jl_conf' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT section, param, conftype, value FROM jos_jl_conf WHERE appid='0' ORDER BY section ASC

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/jota/public_html/components/com_gallery2/classes/g2bridge.jlconf.class on line 101

Original link no longer works. Any news on a mambo / gallery bridge... and before anyone says upgrade to joomla - Not possible as joomla / smf isn't supported.

Is it a big change to make for the joomla bridge to be compatible with mambo?

Thanks

Piers

Personally, the current Simple Joomla SMF Bridge (SJSB) for Joomla 1.5 / SMF 2 works better than any of the previous Joomla 1.0 bridges, as it installs and upgrades easier and does not require the hack of core files. You can see this by viewing my site (www.DIRTFORGE.com) or any of the links below, which are to the forum I use as a virtual notepad for projects.
