Maybe something regarding the theme page problem...
The choices for 'Icon for regrouped markers:' are
not able to be changed. They are dead. See pic.

OK when i turn magic_quotes off following error disapears for me :)
Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\gallery\modules\core\classes\GalleryUtilities.class on line 176

but i still got that "There was a problem processing your request" error on theme settings tab :(

Error happened before i could choose any of markers, so i couldnt see map neither. and is still happening regerdless of what setting i change, but somehow, afer trying many times i got green message that setting were saved ??? and it remembered default marker set option(default one). dont know how did it happen...didnt do anything...

but still i cannot change any setting again... "There was a problem processing your request" error is always there!!

...and also icon for regroup markers is disabled - take a look at attach. pic.

Maybe it has to do with something that im running gallery on Windows/IIS now (i was forced to :( )

OK so I know what the problem is ... a simple javascript I put to prevent an error is adding one ... of course :-)

The javascript enable/disable the iconregroup if itemregroup isn't checked ... but there is not test for the initial value.

EDIT: there was a test but it was simply not working ...

I'll get version 0.4.8b out soon

thanks igrcic and galmoid :)

One more thing to all:

There has been some discussion that this thread was become undeadable and way to confusing to follow. I had create a sourceforge project for this module a while ago (before I got added to the gallery-contrib)

So I put up another poll (I know I like those too :)) to see if we would like to start using the sourceforge space instead ?

Vote Here

See you

This file does not exist: modules/map/templates/blocks/Map.tpl

The file is called map.tpl (with a small "m"). the block is called from the file called templates/blocks/blocks.inc which is calling map.tpl, Maybe you have something wrong in this file ?

mchapman2, I was looking at your problem a bit more and I have found the reason for your problem :)

This is what you need to do to fix it:

1 - Rename the map.tpl file to Map.tpl (so your gallery works again)
2 - Go to your Admin Panel and select "Hide" for the filter block position
3 - Rename the file Map.tpl into the orignal map.tpl

After that the bug is located in MapSiteAdmin.inc, line 903, 904 and 927 the following need to be changed (for everybody)

Change map.Map to map.map

After that it should be fine again.

Sorry about that

BTW the SourceForge project I've created is here and if we start using it, it would help categorize the problems from the bugs from the feature requests, etc ...

Hi,

I followed the steps as outlined but something isn't right. To see what I mean check out http://tarheelstomper.com/gallery2. The pic doesn't give me the option to display a map anymore. What have I done?

You should check on the blocks enabled for the gallery (edit->theme). it's probably best to delete everything and put them back. I'm not sure what's ben done but it sure is a bit messed up :)

Well, I'm making some progress, but now the Google key won't work. I have registered http://tarheelstomper.com and I've put the key into the module but it says that the key I'm using is wrong. I have registered the site twice to make sure I didn't have a typo. Should I register http://tarheelstomper.com/gallery2?

Already, problem solved. the profile created wasn't working because it had http:// in it (I know the documentation isn't finish :))

Now you can start adding GPS coordinates to your pictures and should be able to have map !

I would also recommend finishing the configuration of the rewrite module and enable the rules specific to the Map Module, it makes it easier to get to your map (/gallery2/Map/)

See you!

0.4.7c:
Termite,
Now I'm perplexed (are you surprised?). I have been bitten by...

Error (ERROR_BAD_PARAMETER) : Smarty error: unable to read resource: "gallery:modules/map/templates/blocks/Map.tpl"

I did find in ShowMap.tpl:

{g->block type="map.Map"}

and in, my usual crashing about way, changed map.Map to map.map (probably dumb; but,
I am most of the time) to no help.

Once you're bitten the poison is hard to remove ;)

You also need to follow the same steps as Mike i.e.:

1 - rename the file to Map.tpl
2 - remove the block via the admin panel or (or Edit on the gallery album)
3 - Rename it back to map.tpl

You can keep the change {g->block type="map.map"}

See you

I still cannot get the new group feature to work. If I Add a group I get no
map (just loading, please wait). If I delete the group everything is fine
again. Did I miss something other than Add group which I was supposed to
do?
The deal is as before with the javascript console errors, which you thought
might be attributable to lack of coordinates. I don't see how that might
be since I do assign a coordinate to the group -and- the only items that
appear to be displayed for inclusion seem to be those that have coordinates
assigned previously.

Does this work for anybody that has a case sensitive server? :-)Termite:-)

Galmoid, can you do me a favor and take a look at the structure for the mapMap table in the gallery database ?

Let me know if the itemId field is a varchar or a int ?

EDIT: also can I have a URL to your server so I take a look at the code ?

Thanks

Something isn't quite right. Sometimes the map shows and sometimes it won't. Also, if I make any changes to the settings I get all sorts of errors. What could be going wrong? The map stopped showing before I changed any of the settings so I don't think it was me.

It was me changing it for you ;) For some reason (and it just happened again) the item called "City Dog" end-up with some bogus coordinates in it.

I'm trying to figure out why while it keeps happening to you I can't reproduce it on my server... So basically your map will not show up as long as the item "city dog" will have bogus coordinates in it.

Hmmm...I tried to get the co-ordinates for City Dog using the get from map feature but it wouldn't work. I then tried to insert the co-ordinates using the find from address button, but that didn't work either.

I've managed to reproduce that on my linux box and it turns out it's because of the statement at the end of the module.inc that did not work !!

So when you go into the database tructure, the type for itemId needs to be changed to varchar(11) and then delete the group again and recreate it.

It should work from that point forward.

EDIT: you also ned to delete the entries in the mapMap table that have an ItemId = 0 ....

You are having something weird indeed ... I don't quite understand why at this point (i'm still looking). Now the "Get via map" and "get via address" does not work at all !!!

Blank page for the "get via map" and "," when you do a "get via addres" ... weird.

Database was already varchar(11).
There were no ItemId = 0 there.
Delete/recreate group (using same and different items, all
from the listed items) results were the same. No group - map
works: With group - no map.

I am curious about this entry in your message:

    * Modify the rewrite rule to enable access to the map via
/gallery2/Map and access to the group via /gallery2/Map/G1
(for group 1)

Was something supposed to happen with htaccess?

Here is, I believe, the pertinent code from view source:

                       createMarkerHTMLRegroup(-105.68909,35.99772, "http://u30/tgallery/main.php?g2_view=map.ShowMap&g2_Group=G1", "TestGroup", "http://u30/tgallery/modules/map/images/groups/hawk.jpg", "1137052800", 5, 228, 226,
           "Test Group"          ,
           "To test the new grouping feature." ,
                    photoIcon        , 0, 0, 1);

      var photoIcon = new GIcon(DefaultphotoIcon);
      photoIcon.image = "/tgallery/modules/map/images/markers/smallpushpins/marker_.png";

                       createMarkerHTMLRegroup(, "", "", "", "", , , ,
          ""          ,
          ""          ,
                    photoIcon        , , , 1);
                        // Forces the infowindow structure to exist, so we can add context to it

I notice that photoIcon in all the other createMarkerHTMLRegroup
entries is DefaultphotoIcon.

I also notice, in the problem code marker_.png - no ORANGE or
anything.

As you can see from the URL host (u30) there is no access to
the outside world (sorry).

Only if you have the rewrite rule activated for the map module (i did not activate it automaticaly)

galmoid wrote:

This is a part that is causing the problem:

      photoIcon.image = "/tgallery/modules/map/images/markers/smallpushpins/marker_.png";

                       createMarkerHTMLRegroup(, "", "", "", "", , , ,
          ""          ,
          ""          ,
                    photoIcon        , , , 1);
                        // Forces the infowindow structure to exist, so we can add context to it

This means that there is a Item in the mapMap database that is messed up ... Like an item with "GPS" entry but no coordinates.

I have been finding that it works perfectly on my windows box but I do get some strange behaviour when used on Linux. My first guess is case but I might be wrong.

Can you try to look into mapMap and delete anything funky ?

Funky stuff include:

itemid = 0
GPS = ""

If it doesn't help, add a echo $id."<br>"; right after $id=result[0]; in ShowMap.inc and let me know what's the output.

Thanks

I'm glad everything works now, But I would have like to know what happenned :(

The impact is very significant ...I was planning a code cleanup (to make it easier to read and such) and I think I will add the new API in as well at the same time.

It will take me a lot of work to get that going but it totallly worth it :)

Yeah, if anything becomes apparent as to what happened with the site today I'll keep you informed. As to the new API, any idea of what new features will be included? Also, do you have any plans on incorporating driving directions within the module?

You can just add it into the wiki as a feature request. I think it's been mentioned before, so yes if we remember :)

Termite,
One other, maybe, fishy thing regarding my Group problem. I just
noticed that the URL displayed in the browser (at the top) when
it tries to display the map is like this:

http://u30/tgallery/main.php?g2_view=map.ShowMap&g2_Group=

If I add G1 (one) to the end it all appears to work fine; although, it
does not appear to respect the ZoomLevel set in group management. The
map appears and states "Photo Map Filtered on Group: TestGroup Show All".
By the way, there is no entry in " Area to Show on the Map" list that
refers to the group.

I'll now go look at the mapMap listing.
Results of the echo:
-----
880
883
886
889
892
895
898
901
904

That is due to a problem with the rewrite module (when the rule isn't activated that's what it does ...)

Ok that's getting weirder ... the "ZoomLevel" paramters is the same as for an item. When you get the map to display correctly, it will just show up normally and there will 1 of the Marker that is the group, when you click on the marker is then bring up the group itself

You can see groups as "Sub maps" or another way to limit what to see on the map

Yep I know that, would it be needed ? I did not intend to have them showing up in there :)

Well that seems fine. It's definitively getting weirder. can you do some echo "test"; to see wher it stops rendering the code ?

Thanks

Addig the G1 sends it to a map at zoom zero. If I back off the
zoom I do indeed see a grouping marker (just like any other
grouping marker when there are items close together).

So instead of anything in the "filtering" menu they would just
show up on the root map as another group marker?

You are control . . . who am I to question it. :-) I only
mentioned it in case it meant something regarding this.

Oh well, sigh, OK. I'll be back.

Maybe you might find these cute?

A new set of cryptically named infowindow templates. Try them
out and see what you think. As a matter of fact, try both these
'g3' templates -and- the 'g2' templates. :-)

Please let me/us know if they work at all (they do on my system).

Ok ....

That's correct, actually a "Photo" marker for now there would be no way to differenciate it from a photo :)

You can also uncomment line 397 and post the output here :)

The only thing I see of interest that shows up is:

    [16] => Array
        (
            [hasHiddenChild] => 1
        )

It is the very last item. I expect this is associated with the
"blank" entry in the view source code previously posted.

Now to figure out where it is finding the need to produce
this blank.

This is related with the "regroup item" deal. I have not tried before to use both group and regroup item ... maybe it's a hint. I'm gonna check :)

Nope the problem is not with regroup + group item ... It works fine for me on my linux box.

It has to be a messed up item, can you tell me what's in the DB (mapMap table) for itemId = 16 ?

Also what is itemId = 16 ? can you view the item with /main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=16

Let me know

Cool! I like the g3 templates.
